Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system, including handling correct changes, bagging, providing receipts, and ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop\'s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed, ensuring alignment with guest service expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.
- Schedule store associates to meet guidelines, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels.
- Approve payroll, manage time off, and ensure accurate pay for time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily.
- Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing and communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required admin/operational duties.
- Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and organize products on the sales floor.
- Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report issues to the Store Manager/District Manager.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazardous situations and report injuries per guidelines.
- Help maintain store records/files and keep manuals up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
- At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.

- Complete required paperwork accurately and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
- Ability to work alone or move about the store; stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
