We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations. This role involves developing a sales culture using GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, and providing outstanding guest service through professional conduct and passion for gaming. Responsibilities include ensuring products are visible and accessible, building sales through product knowledge, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supervising staff in the absence of the Store Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide top-tier guest service by greeting guests, responding to inquiries promptly, assisting with gaming needs, informing about promotions, and recommending products.
  • Support the shopping environment, including visual presentation, sales initiatives, and fostering guest relationships.
  • Process transactions accurately using the POS system, including returns, exchanges, and sales.
  • Respond to guest comments and questions in person or via phone professionally; escalate issues when necessary.
  • Promote guest benefits such as reservations, trade-in, and loyalty programs.
  • Assist in training and setting expectations for store staff, providing feedback and recognition.
  • Ensure staff are trained on policies, inventory control, safety, and ethical responsibilities.
  • Manage staff scheduling, ensure proper staffing levels, and oversee payroll and timekeeping.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and proper merchandising.
  • Fulfill online orders and manage inventory, including counts, restocking, and discrepancy reporting.
  • Ensure store safety, report hazards or injuries, and maintain safety protocols.
  • Support administrative tasks such as record-keeping and manual updates.
  • Supervise staff in the absence of the Store Manager, delegating tasks effectively.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proof of legal work eligibility in the U.S.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
  • Retail management experience preferred; retail sales and guest service experience required.
  • Knowledge of video games is a plus.

KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual skills a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and independently or as part of a team.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle stress constructively.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to stand, move, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform related tasks.
