Position Overview

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will support key management responsibilities including supervising daily store operations, ensuring store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational plans while fostering team growth and training opportunities.

Position Type: Full-Time

Average Hours: 38 hours/week

Starting Wage: $25.00/hour; Year 2 increase to $26.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing operational improvement plans
• Communicate responsibilities and performance expectations to team members
• Identify training opportunities to enhance team performance
• Promote company values and create a team-oriented environment
• Monitor local market conditions and advise on necessary adjustments
• Provide feedback on products and make recommendations
• Participate in hiring processes
• Maintain communication on store updates and milestones
• Ensure inventory, product handling, and cash policies are followed
• Resolve customer concerns in the absence of the store leader
• Maintain safety standards and store cleanliness
• Assist in stock management and merchandising
• Support payroll, loss prevention, and training initiatives
• Supervise daily team operations and escalate issues appropriately
• Uphold company policies, security, and confidentiality
• Perform other assigned duties

Physical Demands

• Stocking merchandise, lifting up to 45 pounds, and performing store maintenance tasks
• Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk within the store

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Provide excellent customer service and lead others
• Develop rapport and communicate effectively
• Apply company policies and manage performance
• Operate cash registers and store equipment safely
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Meet state requirements for handling alcohol (if applicable)

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least 3 years retail experience; management experience preferred
