Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Status: Full Time, 40 Hours per Week

Position Overview

Assist the Store Manager in daily operations, staff supervision, sales, store maintenance, customer relations, banking, and record keeping. This role offers benefits and the chance to impact your community positively.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
  • Support staff training and supervision
  • Implement strategies to meet sales goals
  • Assist with store maintenance, safety, and security
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies
  • Manage income and expenses within budget
  • Prevent shrinkage through product control
Customer & Community Relations
  • Develop customer retention plans
  • Create a positive shopping environment
  • Enhance the organization's community image
  • Support the mission of The Salvation Army
Administrative Tasks
  • Support banking and record-keeping
  • Assist in personnel reviews and corrective actions
  • Communicate with the Store Manager on operations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years retail experience (thrift experience preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Basic computer skills including POS systems
  • Ability to pass background check
Physical & Schedule Requirements
  • Regular standing, walking, manual dexterity
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, occasional up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch
  • Flexible hours, including early/late shifts and weekends
Working Environment
  • Store environment with variable noise levels
  • Potential temperature fluctuations and dust exposure
