Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in general and analytical chemistryas well as instrumental analysis, including laboratories

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is located in the Priscilla Payne Hurd Science Center. Our facilities arewell-equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation supported bycollege-controlled endowments. Instrumentation includes a 60-MHzteaching NMR spectrometer, thermal analysis (STA, bombcalorimetry), UV-Vis and fluorescence spectrophotometers, multipleUV-Vis and IR spectrometers, a magnetic susceptibility balance, aswell as other chromatographic (GC-TCD, GC-MS with FID and headspacesampler, HPLC, FPLC), electrochemical, and biochemicalinstrumentation. University endowment funds are available toprovide start-up support for new faculty and continued support forresearch endeavors.
