Role Description

The Assistant Lacrosse Coach is a full-time, on-site position based in Carmel, NY, supporting the development and success of the university’s lacrosse program. This role assists the Head Coach with planning and leading practices, developing training sessions, and contributing to game strategy and in-game adjustments. The Assistant Coach helps oversee student-athlete development, including skill progression, conditioning, sportsmanship, and academic support in collaboration with campus resources. Daily responsibilities include recruiting prospective student-athletes, monitoring team equipment and logistics, communicating with athletes and staff, and maintaining compliance with university, conference, and NCAA regulations. The position also involves participating in team meetings, scouting opponents, and supporting community engagement and outreach activities related to the lacrosse program.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with student-athletes, coaching staff, and campus partners.
• Demonstrated lacrosse knowledge and playing or coaching experience, including understanding of tactics, rules, and positional play.
• Coaching and training skills focused on player development, performance improvement, and safety.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; prior coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level is beneficial.
