The Stepping Stones Group in Harvey, LA is seeking a qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our full-time school-based team. You will provide sign language interpretation for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students during classroom instruction and school activities, and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related staff to ensure meaningful participation.

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
• Educational Interpreter certification, state licensure, or Louisiana credentials.
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards.

Responsabilidades

• Provide sign language interpretation for students during classroom instruction.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and families.
• Interpret lectures, discussions, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
• Support students' access to academic content and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers.
• Maintain records and documentation as required.
• Adhere to ethics and district policies.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development.
