Job summary

Allied Universal in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is hiring an Armed Security Officer to provide armed protective services for a high‑profile site. Duties include patrols, access control, CCTV and alarm monitoring, incident reporting, and customer service.

Requirements include an active secret clearance, Maryland Guard Card and Carry Permit, and 3+ years of armed security or military or armed civilian law enforcement experience. Site pay starts at 37.20/hr with paid training of 25.00/hr.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid (AHA/ARC).
• Must have firearms qualifications (federal/state).
• National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDTP) certification.
• OC, Baton and handcuffing certifications.
• Defensive tactics and de‑escalation training.
• Minimum of two years armed security experience or two years US military service or one year armed civilian law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality security services to protect people and property.
• Build and maintain relationships with client staff and guests.
• Report safety concerns, breaches, and unusual incidents in writing and verbally.
• Handle security issues and emergencies according to protocol.
• Follow site orders and operation manuals.
• Greet visitors and assist as needed; patrol the facility on foot or vehicle.
• Monitor phones, CCTV systems, and alarms; respond to alarms and emergencies.
