Penn State is seeking an Animal Caretaker C in Comparative Medicine to join our team. The role supports routine animal care, feeding, and documentation, with driving duties for supplies and equipment.

Scheduling is Monday–Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays, providing a stable campus position. The successful candidate will perform nursing tasks under supervision, operate lab equipment, and maintain detailed records while ensuring animal welfare and adherence to university policies.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months of effective experience in animal care.
• Background checks are required for employment at the University.
• A valid driver’s license and motor vehicle records check are required for this job.

Responsabilités

• Provide general care, feeding and watering of animals.
• Operate van for pickup and delivery of cages, racks, bedding, feed and other items.
• Assist in holding animals for administration of drugs and weighing.
• Maintain daily census of animals in assigned facilities.
• Euthanize small laboratory animals as required.
• Clean and sanitize cages and animal rooms.
