Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Full-Time Activity Therapist at El’ Dorado Correctional Facility to provide purposeful, goal-oriented activities and routine care for behaviorally impaired individuals under licensed behavioral health staff.

The role involves creating treatment curriculums, facilitating both individual and group activities, and employing problem-solving techniques to enhance independence and social skills within a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Teams, and able to utilize an Electronic Health Record.
• Must be a supportive team member with strong teamwork.
• Able to make independent decisions when needed.
• Experience in a correctional mental health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop treatment curriculums with Unit Coordinator.
• Facilitate activities in individual and group settings; track data.
• Conduct non-clinical therapeutic interventions with professionals.
• Teach problem-solving techniques in groups and individuals.
• Help clients build social skills for well-being.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
