Job summary
VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking an Activity Therapist at Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, KS. This full-time role focuses on delivering structured, goal-oriented therapeutic activities for behaviorally challenged patients under licensed supervision.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, English fluency, and proficiency with Word, Excel, Teams, and EHR systems. Knowledge of a correctional mental health environment is preferred, with background clearance
Qualifications
- Must be fluent in English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
- Experience in a correctional mental health setting preferred.
- Must be able to pass background check and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Develop treatment curricula in conjunction with Unit Coordinator.
- Facilitate activity-based contacts in individual and group settings.
- Maintain data collection and tracking of activities.
- Conduct non-clinical therapeutic interventions in treatment units.
- Use problem solving techniques with individuals and groups to promote coping.
- Assist clients in building social skills for independent living.
