Position Overview

Orono High School, a 340-student school in Orono, Maine, is seeking a dynamic, student-centered science educator to join our forward-thinking faculty for grades 9-12. We value innovative teaching that reflects the evolving world and supports students in actualizing our district’s 'Vision of a Learner'. Our approach emphasizes the significance of place, connecting skills to students’ lived experiences, and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities
  1. Design and deliver engaging science lessons in life sciences and data literacy.
  2. Support student empowerment through mastery of knowledge and skills.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to evolve our science programming.
  4. Possibly teach courses in life sciences and data literacy, depending on expertise.
