Position Summary: This position designs, develops, and maintains our web-based applications and technologies, including the corporate website(s), web applications, and web-based technologies that support and integrate with company products. This person works closely in a team environment to define, build, and maintain web applications and sites. This individual must have strong technical skills, good problem-solving ability, and creative thinking skills. This person must have knowledge of contemporary web programming languages (ex. PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, popular web frameworks (ex. Laravel, CodeIgniter, Vue), CLI, common web infrastructure, REST APIs and background processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Defines requirements and development of core infrastructure for websites and web applications.

· Extends/builds web APIs for use by external devices and mobile apps.

· Designs functional and professional user interface with sound design principles.

· Designs/extends basic database structure based on supplied project /feature requirements.

· Maintains standardized development environment utilizing containers (ex. Custom Docker Images).

· Writes unit tests in code for new features and projects where applicable.

· Manages web projects.

· Works collaboratively to define and establish server needs.

· Manages app deployment with CI/CD processes (ex. Gitlab pipelines) to remote environments.

· Develops websites, web pages, and web-based applications as specified in the project or product definition.

· Designs functional user interface with the support of more senior team members or existing templates and libraries.

· Establishes analytics on sites built and provides usage analysis reports as required.

· Designs, develops, and documents code in a modular environment that is clear, portable, and written to integrate with modules written by other web developers or engineers. Writes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains code with operational notations, flowcharts, testing procedures, and other applicable documentation. Maintains version control over code changes with Git.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including internal and external domestic and international partners.

· Proficient in building more complex websites and applications containing multiple database connections, responsive design, dynamic elements, API connections and full integration with authentication processes and frameworks.

· Deep knowledge of web languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL), as well as supporting tools. This includes the knowledge of specific methods and syntax of the native language, as well as across different frameworks, adhering to industry standards and proper markup.

· Basic database design techniques, ACID properties, and transactions. Can write simple queries and retrieve data with connections to web projects.

· Adept at working with contemporary front-end frameworks (ex. Vue, React, Angular).

· Proficient in the use of package managers (Composer, NPM) to support more efficient development, when applicable.

· Proficient in writing supporting documentation of code.

· Proficient in building and managing large transactional databases across different development environments; writing connections and customized queries from web frameworks.

· Well-versed with UI/UX design process, working with stakeholders and project owners to develop and functional front end with sound UI adhering to contemporary standards.

· Familiarity with popular web frameworks and libraries (ex. Laravel, Vue, Tailwind, Codeigniter, JQuery, Flexbox, Bootstrap, etc.).

· Competent in developing in and maintaining a Full Stack environment (ex. LAMP: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).

· Well-versed in popular IDEs including knowledge of shortcuts and plugins that improve efficiency.

Education and Experience:

· B.S. in computer science or related field is required.Equivalent work experience will be considered.

· Must have at least 3 years of relevant experience, including programming with core web languages mentioned above and supporting systems and tools.

· Familiarity with CLI and shell scripting (Linux), Cloud Services, popular web frameworks and Virtual Machines is desired.

· Familiarity with Mac OSX and/or Linux environments is preferred.
