Job summary

Westmag offers exciting Internship and Co-op opportunities for students eager to gain hands‑on experience in engineering, operations, product development and business functions. Interns work closely with full time engineers, contributing to impactful projects that support Westmag's mission to innovate in drone motor manufacturing.

You will build and maintain internal web applications, develop features with TypeScript/React/Node.js, and help deploy services on AWS.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related undergraduate or graduate program.
• Strong interest in robotics, drone technology, manufacturing or technology startups.
• Previous internship, personal projects or project-based student org experience (Formula SAE, Rocketry, Design Build Fly, hackathons, etc.).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship/co-op period.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the software team to build and maintain internal web applications and services that support Westmag’s engineering and manufacturing operations.
• Develop full-stack features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js, backed by PostgreSQL databases.
• Help containerize, deploy, and operate services on AWS, including improving CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
• Support integrations between factory equipment, test stations and software systems, including data collection and monitoring.
• Write automated tests, contribute to code reviews and technical documentation, and take on research tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and production teams to turn real factory needs into working software.
