Job summary

iHeartMedia in Austin, TX is hiring a software engineer to design, build, and ship high‑quality components using OO and component patterns. You’ll contribute to frontend React and backend Node.js/TypeScript work, including serverless infra, with a strong emphasis on test‑driven development and automation.

You will collaborate with Architects to translate requirements into technical designs, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and ensure releases are smooth, fast, and reliable across edge devices and cloud

Qualifications

• 3+ years of web development experience.
• Solid grounding in Agile methodologies and QA.
• Hands‑on experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience building UIs with React.
• Comfortable with Python for data science or AI/ML workloads.
• Experience with AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, SQS).
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and deployment automation, ideally with AWS CodePipeline and CDK.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch (or similar) for monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding.
• Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB) and relational databases (Postgres or MySQL).
• Experience with event‑driven message‑based integrations.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across hardware and software environments.
• Experience profiling and tuning applications for CPU/memory efficiency.
• A track record of writing maintainable, extensible, future‑proof code.
• Experience with end‑to‑end and user acceptance testing in an Agile context.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship software components with reuse and test‑driven development.
• Build new features and enhancements for existing products.
• Write, test, and deploy React front ends and Node.js/TypeScript back ends.
• Translate requirements into detailed technical designs with Architects.
• Deliver software with minimal defects and quick issue resolution.
• Estimate effort and contribute to feature planning.
• Identify technical risks and plan mitigation.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for smooth releases.
• Support and troubleshoot code on edge devices deployed in the field.
• Use monitoring, alerting, and dashboards to ensure system health.
