Job summary

Remitly is seeking a Software Development Engineer II in Arlington, VA to build full-stack lending servicing systems from origination through servicing and repayment. You’ll join the Arlington hub, collaborating with teams in Seattle and Vancouver, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Role emphasizes scalable design, product quality, and cross-functional collaboration with PMs and data scientists, on a hybrid schedule with in-office expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/React (or similar) plus a backend language (Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python).
• Experience with distributed, large-scale systems and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Bonus: FinTech, lending, or payments experience.

Responsibilities

• Build for scale: design and implement full-stack solutions (React, GraphQL, Java/Kotlin) at scale.
• Design: contribute to next-gen Lending features with data-driven, customer-centric focus.
• Craft with pride: maintain high product quality and code excellence.
• Collaborate: work with product managers, data scientists and engineers to translate requirements into scalable software.
