Job summary

Swift, a global leader in secure financial messaging, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure applications in a fast-paced environment.

Based in Virginia, you will work on back-end Java with Springboot, APIs, and front-end integrations, collaborating with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. A strong emphasis on security, performance, and modern DevOps practices is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years as a Full Stack Software Engineer or similar role.
• Proven hands-on Java + Springboot experience.
• Experience building REST APIs and system integrations.
• Experience with HTTP/TCP/IP-based applications.
• Knowledge of XML/JSON parsing.
• Experience with debugging, memory leaks, and performance tuning.
• Experience with databases, storage techs and RHEL.
• Familiarity with AI tools in design, coding and testing.
• Proficiency with Agile tools: Jenkins, JIRA, Artifactory & Confluence.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Frontend framework experience (React/Angular/Vue) and HTML/CSS/JS/TS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test new features and functionalities for applications, ensuring quality, performance, responsiveness, and security.
• Write clean, maintainable back-end code for Java with Springboot.
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrate with third-party services.

The Tracker team is responsible for developing and maintaining secure top-quality applications in the space of Payments preparation and tracking. In line with team objectives, policies and procedures and under guidance of a more senior team member, you will participate in design, coding, testing and maintenance of secure, high-quality application software/tools.

About the Role

What to Expect:

• Design, develop, and test new features and functionalities for applications, ensuring high quality, performance, responsiveness, and security
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for back-end components based on Java with Springboot
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrate with third-party services
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other engineers to understand requirements, define technical specifications, and deliver high-quality solutions
• Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality & security best practices
• Debug and resolve technical issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize application performance
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Effectively use AI assistants during design, development and testing activities
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our technical stack and development processes
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
• Evaluate and recommend technical feasibility and estimates of the proposed systems solutions

What will make you successful:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer or similar role
• Proven hands on experience in Java including Springboot framework
• Hands on experience in APIs and systems integrations through REST APIs
• Experience in building HTTP, TCP/IP based applications
• Work Knowledge in XML, JSON parsing methods
• Experience in debugger, memory leaks, system performance tuning
• Working experience in databases, storage technologies & RHEL systems
• Experience in effectively using AI tools during design, coding and testing
• Conversant with Agile tools such as Jenkins, JIRA, Artifactory & Confluence
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and DevOps practices
• Proficiency in at least one modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and associated technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript) is a plus
• Security technologies such as PKI, HMAC, AES, digest algorithms, SSL is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position in Virginia is $82,361.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to $152,955.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM.

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
