Job summary

GALT Aerospace in San Diego, CA is seeking a full-time Software Engineer II or III to design, develop, integrate, and sustain software for complex aerospace and defense systems. This role covers full-stack development, distributed systems, and air-gapped environments.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate across teams, and build with Python and Vue.js, leveraging RPC, Protobuf, and containerized deployments with Podman and Ansible. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/CE or related STEM field.
• 5+ years software development experience.
• Experience with Python or similar languages.
• Experience with front-end frameworks (Vue.js, JS).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and service-based architectures.
• Experience with Linux (RHEL) and scripting (Bash/PowerShell).
• Experience with containerization (Podman) and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of and lead software features from requirements through implementation, integration, testing, and delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate features into larger systems.
• Build and maintain full-stack applications with Vue.js front-end and Python back-end.
• Design, develop, and integrate distributed software services (RPC, pub/sub).
• Develop interfaces using Protobuf and service-based APIs.
• Integrate software with external devices and hardware interfaces.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and process improvements.
