Job summary

Arcadia Science, based in Emeryville, CA, is seeking a software engineer to bridge biology and technology. You will develop web apps and data infrastructure connecting wet-lab and computational scientists, delivering end-to-end digital experiences.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building products from scratch in fast-moving environments.
• Experience designing and shipping UIs for scientific workflows with non-engineers in mind.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript; comfortable with backend services and frontend apps.
• Experience building data pipelines for scientific data: ingestion, transformation, QC, storage.

Responsibilities

• Partner with researchers and designers to identify problems and ship solutions via rapid iterations.
• Design, develop, and maintain Arcadia's internal product suite for scalability and performance.
• Build data infrastructure supporting biological workflows from ingestion to visualization.
• Create a scientific UI for bench scientists, including sample management and run configuration.
