Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting partners with a growing global organization to hire a Software Engineer for its Chicago western suburbs. This hands‑on, full‑stack role focuses on building enterprise applications, reporting, APIs, and modernization initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring strong C#/.NET development experience, modern front‑end capabilities, and solid SQL skills, comfortable across existing systems and new development, troubleshooting production issues and driving modernization efforts.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software‑development experience.
Strong C# and .NET experience.
Full‑stack application development experience.
Experience with React, Angular, or another modern front‑end framework.
Strong SQL Server and SQL development skills.
Experience building REST APIs and web services; experience supporting enterprise applications.
Reporting experience using SSRS, Power BI, or comparable technologies is highly valued.
Experience with Git and modern development practices.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and understand complex business processes.
Power Automate, Azure, cloud development, and integration experience are valuable but not required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise business applications.
Build and enhance applications using C# and .NET.
Develop front‑end solutions using React, Angular, or comparable modern frameworks.
Develop backend services, business logic, and data‑processing solutions.
Build and support REST APIs, web services, and system integrations.
Develop SQL‑based reporting and data solutions.
Support reporting platforms such as SSRS and Power BI.
Work directly with business users to understand processes and translate requirements into technical solutions.
Maintain and improve existing bespoke business applications.
Troubleshoot application, system, and data issues.
Support production applications, deployments, and releases.
Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
Contribute to workflow automation and process improvement.
Participate in application and cloud modernization initiatives.
Collaborate with developers, integration engineers, infrastructure teams, analysts, vendors, and business stakeholders across a global Technology organization.
