Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a mid-to-senior backend engineer to join a project for an energy solutions provider. You will design and build backend services and APIs, working with Ruby, Node.js/TypeScript, and Python, and contribute frontend work in TypeScript.

You will model business domains, integrate system-to-system interfaces, and help scale AI-native development with CI/CD tooling across the team. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Backend engineering with strong data fundamentals and API design.
• Production experience with relational databases and data/domain modeling.
• Experience in Ruby, Node.js/TypeScript or Python; strong fundamentals matter more than language.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute technical criteria with product teams.

Our client is an energy solutions provider. Our AI-enabled platform supports operations, tracking and decision-making to optimize large-scale renewable and traditional energy portfolios. We're delivering a key client MVP in February 2027, and the project continues into 2028. Our stack: Ruby on Rails, Node.js/TypeScript and Python services, Vue, PostgreSQL, Snowflake and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product teams to help define and execute technical criteriaDesign and build backend services and APIs, including system-to-system integrations, on relational dataModel complex, evolving business domains into clear schemas and API contractsShip end-to-end features, including TypeScript frontend workHelp scale AI-native development across the team: shared AI workflows, tooling and CI/CD integration

SKILLS

Must have

• Mid-to-senior engineer with strong backend and data fundamentalsProduction experience with relational databases and data/domain modelingProduction experience in one of Ruby (preferred), Node.js/TypeScript (preferred) or Python. Fundamentals matter more than languageExperience designing and building APIsAWS or another enterprise cloud platformAI-native development: daily use of agentic AI coding tools, and experience scaling shared AI workflows across a team and into the development lifecycle, including CI/CDStrong English and communication skills
