Job summary

Alex is seeking a hands-on software engineer to help build both consumer-facing and enterprise-grade features for our AI recruitment platform. You will tackle latency, model tuning, and scalable architecture in a fast-moving San Francisco startup.

Collaborate with a tight-knit team to deliver live interview experiences and hiring signals, integrating with customer systems and presenting results visually. The stack includes JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node, Python, and cloud tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience building consumer and enterprise software.
• Strong frontend and backend development skills across JS/TS and Python.
• Experience with cloud/DevOps tooling and scalable system design.

Responsibilities

• Reduce interviewer latency to ~200ms in production systems.
• Tune models to reduce hallucinations and improve correctness.
• Scale architecture to support thousands of concurrent users.
• Integrate with customers' internal hiring systems and data feeds.
• Present interview results visually and efficiently.

What can I work on?

Alex is similar to a marketplace, as we serve both candidates through the interview experience and employers through a data aggregation and analysis platform. As a hands on engineer, you will build both consumer-facing and enterprise-grade software with a clear opportunity for growth. Problems that you could work on related to consumer software are:

• How can we bring the average interviewer response latency down to 200ms?

• How can we fine tune our models to decrease hallucination and help Alex pass the Turing test?

• How will our system architecture change as we scale to thousands more users, concurrently?

Problems that you could work on related to enterprise software are:

• How do we integrate with our customer’s internal hiring systems?

• What’s the best way to present interview results visually and as fast as possible?

• How can Alex expand to coordinating the hiring process end to end?

• And many, many feature requests that need to be built out!
