Ersilia in New York City is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help build the core product from the ground up in person. You’ll own full-stack work across Node.js/TypeScript backend, React frontend, and PostgreSQL data layer, delivering real features from roadmap to users.

The role targets 4+ years of full-stack experience, a track record of shipping 0→1 software, strong UX/UI sense, and a CS degree from a top program.

Qualifications

• Experience with AI/LLMs, AI agents, or voice technology.

About the Role

We're hiring on behalf of a well-funded, early-stage healthcare startup building their core product from the ground up. This is a full-time, in-person role in New York City. We're not looking for someone to maintain an existing codebase — we're looking for someone who has shipped production software from zero to one before, and wants to do it again.

• 4+ years of full-stack software engineering experience — this is a firm floor, not a soft preference
• Hands‑on production experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL
• A track record of shipping production software from 0 to 1, not just maintaining what's already built
• Strong product instincts and UX/UI judgment — you care about how something feels to use, not just whether it works
• A completed undergraduate degree in Computer Science, ideally from a globally top-ranked program (exceptionally strong candidates with a different technical background or school can still be considered if the rest of the profile is outstanding)
• Currently working as an individual‑contributor engineer (Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer). This role is not a fit for candidates who have already held a CTO, VP of Engineering, Head of Engineering, Principal Engineer, or Founding Engineer title — we’re looking for a strong senior IC, not someone stepping down from a leadership seat
• Based in or genuinely open to relocating to New York City — this is an in-person, NYC-based role Preferred
• Some signal of excellence: a strong school, time at a notable VC-backed startup or scale-up, a fast career trajectory, or side projects worth showing off
• Experience with LLMs, AI agents, or voice technology

Compensation $150,000 – $230,000 base salary — generally $150K–$200K for 4-6 years of experience, with a higher band and Senior Software Engineer title available for more experienced candidates.

(Note: significantly more senior candidates who have already held C-level or VP-level engineering titles are not a fit for this particular seat, regardless of comp expectations.)
