Job summary

Black Cape is hiring a Junior Full Stack Software Engineer to work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO, primarily in a SCIF. The role requires TS/SCI clearance (no poly) and US citizenship. Expect to contribute to cloud-native web apps, data analytics, and AI/ML tooling for DoW/IC customers.

Ideal candidates have 0–5 years of experience with OO languages (Python/JS/Java/C#), MVC and modern web frameworks, and Linux environments. Onsite work up to 5 days per week is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
TS/SCI clearance required (no poly).
0–5 years of professional development experience.
Experience with object oriented languages (Python/JS/Java/C#).
Experience with at least one MVC framework (Spring/Django/Flask/Rails).
Experience with web frameworks (React/Angular/VueJS).
Knowledge of HTTP/HTML/REST/CSS/JavaScript.
Familiarity with Linux (RedHat).
Experience with Agile teams.
Experience in classified government environments.
Cross-OS development (MacOS/Windows/Linux).

Responsibilities

Develop full-stack web applications for federal customers.
Collaborate with mission teams to deliver secure software solutions.

What we are hiring

Our program supporting SOCOM needs onsite engineers to work on full stack engineering to support mission users. We are looking for engineers that want to work close to Special Operations mission teams and have a direct impact on mission success. Engineering work will take place at customer sites up to 5 days per week.

Required Technical Skills (MUST HAVES)

Must have a Bachelor’s degree
Must have a TS/SCI clearance (no poly required)
0-5 years of professional development experience
Experience with an object oriented language like Python, JavaScript, Java, or C#
Experience with at least ONE MVC framework, perhaps including Spring, Django, Flask or Rails
Experience with web frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueJS
Working knowledge of web application tools like HTTP, HTML, REST, CSS, and JavaScript
Familiarity with Linux systems including RedHat-based distributions
Experience working with agile software development teams
Experience working in classified government environments
Experience developing on MacOS, Windows, and Linux

Preferred Technical Skills (NICE TO HAVES)

Experience with containers, Docker, and kubernetes
Experience with AWS Console including but not limited to lite management of EC2 instances
Background communicating to senior stakeholders in a classified environment
CompTIA Security+ certification
