Job Title: Full Stack Software Developer

Location: United States - Fully Remote

Eligibility: Candidate must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance

Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer (Back-End focus) to work alongside balanced agile delivery teams on highly complex DoD projects, specifically the development of command and control (C2) software. Our client and its partners are building an innovative cloud-based command and control system that seamlessly integrates existing capabilities and provides automation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of mission planning and execution. A perfect candidate is able to write high-quality code, integrate with partner capability providers, and ensure code and product quality. This position will collaborate with the development team and other capability providers to integrate AI/ML capabilities into a high-performance UI.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Develop an "AI abstraction layer" comprising backend and frontend components to enable integration of any AI algorithm into a React-based application.
2. Develop server-side/back-end application logic and database schema that support front-end development.
3. Contribute to reusable component libraries and shared codebases.
4. Write high-quality, standards-compliant code, following best practices and design patterns.
5. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle using agile methodologies.
6. Conduct code reviews and implement effective testing strategies to ensure quality.
7. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including developers, designers, testers, and managers.
8. Regularly communicate progress and estimations to project stakeholders.
9. Ensure seamless backend integration, including databases, ML data pipelines, and messaging systems.
10. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.

Required Experience

1. 8+ years of professional full stack web development experience (5+ with a STEM B.S.), with a focus on React (other JavaScript frameworks are a plus).
2. Proficiency in developing organized, accessible, and performant applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, advanced CSS, and HTML.
3. Strong understanding of application architecture, asynchronous programming, closures, types, and ES6 features.
4. Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment strategies; cloud architect or operations certification is a plus.
5. Experience with version control systems like Git and collaborative workflows.
6. Experience with build and test tools such as Jest, Rollup, Webpack, Babel, and automation workflows.
7. Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
8. Experience integrating AI solutions (e.g., large language models) into React applications.
9. Must be a US Citizen with an active US Secret Security Clearance or higher.

Preferred Experience

1. Understanding of security and data protection concepts.
2. Portfolio of past projects or GitHub links demonstrating skills.
3. Interest in learning new technologies with pragmatic application.
4. Ability to make architectural decisions and document them clearly.
5. Attention to detail in UI design and implementation.
6. Experience with geospatial information systems (GIS).
7. Familiarity with cloud-native geospatial data formats like geoJSON, geoParquet, geoArrow.
