Job summary

SIXGEN, Inc. in Fort Meade, MD is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy software supporting government missions.

You will collaborate with systems engineers, analysts, and end users to translate requirements into scalable software. Candidates must be US citizens with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance, experience in Linux environments, and proficiency in Python, C++, Java, or C.

Qualifications

• US Citizen eligible for US Government security clearance up to TS/SCI.
• Experience developing software in Linux-based environments; secure coding practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal government software projects.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, containerization, distributed systems; familiarity with Agile; Git, Jira, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and systems for government missions.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, analysts, and end users to translate requirements into software solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages and development practices.
• Support integration, debugging, and testing activities in both lab and operational environments; ensure security and reliability.
