Job summary

Clera, an early-stage AI recruitment tech startup, seeks a full-stack product engineer to work directly with founders. You will own features from design to production, shaping both product direction and technical choices while delivering user-facing capabilities.

You will build frontend in TypeScript and React/Next.js, design backend services in Python or Node.js, and integrate LLMs. This role requires shipping in a small team, thriving in a fast-moving environment, on-site in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• 2 to 8 years of software engineering experience with a track record shipping user-facing products.
• Experience with full-stack development: TypeScript/React on frontend; Python or Node.js on backend.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Practical experience integrating LLMs or AI services into real apps, not research only.
• Ability to translate user problems into measurable, pragmatic solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product features from requirements to production deployment.
• Build frontend experiences in TypeScript and React/Next.js emphasizing usability and performance.
• Design and implement backend services, data schemas, and tooling including CI/CD, monitoring, and testing.
• Integrate LLM and AI capabilities into product flows for reliable user value.
• Collaborate with founders, product, and design to prioritize work and define success metrics.
• Participate in architecture and roadmap discussions, making pragmatic tradeoffs for early-stage growth.
