Job summary

Fable Security, Inc. is seeking a versatile engineer in San Francisco to design and build backend systems and data models powering our human risk platform. You will own features end-to-end, including frontend work when needed, working with design and product to deliver customer-ready experiences.

You will engage with early users, iterate quickly, and contribute to a strong engineering culture through code reviews and mentorship while shipping production-grade code at a fast pace.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of building and shipping fullstack or backend-heavy applications.
• Strong fluency with Django and backend fundamentals including API design and data modeling.
• Experience building frontend interfaces, ideally with React or Next.js.
• Familiar with TypeScript and GraphQL or eager to grow into them.
• Proven ability to take features from concept to production independently.
• Customer-obsessed mindset focused on solving real user problems.

What You'll Do

• Design and build the backend systems and data models that power Fable's product

• Own features end-to-end, including frontend work when needed

Who You Are

• 3-5 years of experience building and shipping fullstack or backend-heavy applications

• Strong fluency with Django (or similar frameworks) and backend fundamentals - API design, data modeling, persistence, and hands-on Postgres experience (schema design, query performance)

• Experience building frontend interfaces - ideally with React or Next.js

• Familiar with TypeScript and GraphQL (or excited to grow into them)

• Proven ability to take features from concept to production independently

• Customer-obsessed - you care that your work solves real problems for real users

• Thoughtful about system design and data integrity, and ask good product questions

• Thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
