Job summary

PEMCO is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and maintain business applications using .NET and React. You will contribute to backend services in C# and ASP.NET Core, and build responsive front-end features with React.

You will work with cross-functional teams in Seattle, participate in code reviews and sprints, and help ensure performance, security, and code quality. Familiarity with SQL, REST APIs, and GitHub Copilot is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related technical program.
• 1–2 years of software development experience.
• 1–2 years of experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-powered coding assistants.
• Working knowledge of C#, .NET, and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Exposure to ASP.NET Core MVC or .NET Web API development.
• Experience developing front-end features using React and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and client-server architecture.
• Foundational SQL skills, including writing and debugging queries.
• Hands-on experience using GitHub for version control and collaborative workflows.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and maintenance of business applications using .NET technologies and React.
• Develop backend services using C# and ASP.NET Core.
• Build responsive front-end components using React and JavaScript.
• Implement and consume RESTful APIs for system integration.
• Write maintainable object-oriented code.
• Create and troubleshoot SQL queries, joins, views, and stored procedures.
• Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and sprint ceremonies.
• Collaborate with QA, UX, Product, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Assist with release and deployment activities.
• Investigate and resolve application issues, escalating complex items as appropriate.
• Contribute to technical documentation and team knowledge sharing.
• Use GitHub Copilot in alignment with PEMCO development and security standards.
• Support PEMCO’s policies, values, code of ethics, business conduct, and brand.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
