Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Microsoft Developer in Akron to design, develop, test, and deploy full‑stack solutions using .NET, C#, and modern web frameworks. You will collaborate across teams, participate in design and CI/CD activities, and contribute to AI‑assisted development and production support in a fast‑paced environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience with Azure, SQL, and Agile delivery practices, with on‑call rotation as part of production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience.
• Professional application development experience using .NET, C#, .NET Core, SQL, and modern web frameworks such as Angular or Blazor.
• Experience with relational databases and scalable maintainable applications.
• Experience deploying or supporting apps on Microsoft Azure and/or IIS.
• Experience with Agile delivery and DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira).
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Enhance, troubleshoot, modernize, and support existing business apps while delivering new features.
• Build, test, deploy, and support full‑stack web apps across on‑prem IIS and Azure environments.
• Participate in requirements, design discussions, code reviews, testing, release planning, and CI/CD.
• Explore AI-assisted development to improve delivery workflows and code quality.
