Job summary

Berkley Technology Services in Urbandale, IA is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, test, and support applications used across the corporation's subsidiaries. This role works with senior engineers, business analysts, QA, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

The position requires 2–4 years of experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Angular, HTML/CSS/JS, and SQL Server, plus strong problem-solving and teamwork. Travel is approximately 5–10%.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and support application features using .NET, Angular, and SQL Server technologies.
• Gain an understanding of business processes, system functionality, and application integrations.
• Participate in requirements discussions and provide input on technical solutions and implementation approaches.
• Assist with creating technical design documentation and development estimates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production support incidents.
• Collaborate with senior developers and team members to implement new functionality and system improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Follow established development standards, design patterns, and coding best practices.
• Work with quality assurance teams to ensure features are tested and meet business requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve system usability, performance, and supportability.
• Support application deployments and environment management activities as needed.
• Work as a collaborative member of an Agile development team, interacting with business analysts, QA resources, and end users.
• Provide quality customer support by investigating and resolving user-reported issues.
• Participate in rotating on-call support for production systems, as required.
