Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Engineer in Irving, TX to design, develop and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React.js. You will build RESTful APIs and microservices, participate in code reviews, and optimize performance across the stack.

You will collaborate with product owners, architects, and offshore teams in an Agile environment, leveraging cloud platforms, CI/CD, containers, and AI/LLM/RAG features to deliver robust software solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in full stack development with Java, Spring Boot, React.js.
• Experience building full-stack enterprise apps with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GC).
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical discussions.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and React.js to develop and maintain scalable enterprise applications that support critical business functions. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience across the full software development lifecycle, including application design, backend and frontend development, API integration, testing, and deployment.

This role requires a highly collaborative engineer who can translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, drive development best practices, and contribute to the successful delivery of modern digital applications. Experience with cloud technologies, microservices, DevOps practices, and emerging AI driven solutions is highly valued.

About the Role

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and related technologies. You will build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, perform code reviews, and optimize application performance to ensure reliable and scalable solutions.

You will collaborate closely with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and distributed development teams to deliver high quality software solutions in an Agile environment. The role involves contributing to technical design discussions, supporting development best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the software development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, source control, containerization technologies, and modern application architectures. Exposure to AI Chatbots, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Generative AI initiatives will be considered a strong advantage.

In This Role, You Will

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and related technologies.
• Build, enhance, and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices that support business-critical applications.
• Perform hands-on coding, debugging, testing, code reviews, and application performance optimization.
• Provide technical guidance to offshore development teams by resolving technical challenges and supporting successful delivery.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow best practices for code quality, security, testing, and software development lifecycle processes.
• Contribute to AI chatbot and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) initiatives when applicable.

Work Model

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote at a client or Cognizant office in one of the following locations:

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in full stack application development with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and enterprise application development.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java application development using Spring Boot.
• Proven experience developing full-stack applications with React.js, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks and code quality standards.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Ability to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and work independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with onsite and offshore teams.
• Experience implementing AI Chatbots and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Exposure to Generative AI technologies and Large Language Model (LLM) integrations.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments.
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical discussions.
