Job summary

Information Gateways Inc is seeking a Full Stack Java/Angular Developer to mainta in, enhance, and modernize large Federal enterprise applications. You will design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and implement features across Java/Spring backend services and Angular 15+ UIs in an Agile Scrum environment.

The ideal candidate combines strong frontend and backend skills with a focus on secure, maintainable, and well-tested code within a large enterprise codebase.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, or related field; equivalent software development experience considered.
• 5+ years of object-oriented development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Java development; 3+ years DB experience; 2+ years Angular 15+.
• Experience with Agile development and AWS Cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services using Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and Maven.
• Develop and enhance Angular 15+ applications using TypeScript, RxJS, reactive forms, routing, reusable components, services, and frontend state management patterns.
• Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly UI workflows that support complex Federal business processes.
• Integrate Angular frontend features with backend REST APIs, including request/response handling, validation, error messaging, and loading states.
• Develop and maintain relational database logic using SQL, JPA repositories, and database query optimization techniques.
• Troubleshoot full-stack issues across Angular screens, Java services, APIs, authentication, database logic, and deployment environments.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and UI tests using tools such as JUnit, Spring Boot Test, Jasmine, Karma, and related frameworks.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, peer reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Collaborate with distributed teams, QA analysts, product owners, DevOps engineers, architects, and Federal stakeholders.
• Support modernization efforts by refactoring legacy code, improving maintainability, strengthening test coverage, and reducing technical debt.
• Ensure solutions follow secure coding practices, Section 508 accessibility expectations, and enterprise development standards.

Required Skills And Abilities

• Strong hands‑on experience with Angular 15+ and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of Angular components, services, modules, routing, forms, RxJS observables, dependency injection, and reusable UI patterns.
• Experience building enterprise Angular applications with complex forms, grids, search screens, validation rules, and API-driven workflows.
• Strong Java development experience, preferably with Java 11 or later.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC/REST, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and Maven.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar enterprise databases.
• Solid understanding of REST API design, JSON, validation, error handling, and service-layer architecture.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across frontend, backend, database, and integration layers.
• Familiarity with application security concepts such as authentication, authorization, role-based access, LDAP, SAML, or JWT.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a distributed Agile team.
• Ability to read and safely enhance existing code without introducing regressions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent software development experience will also be considered.
• 5+ years of object-oriented development experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on, strong Java development experience.
• 3+ years of experience with database technologies.
• 2+ years of hands‑on Angular development experience, with Angular 15+ strongly preferred.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Experience with Agile development and AWS Cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Section 508 / WCAG accessibility standards.
• Experience with UI libraries or design systems such as Kendo UI, ng-bootstrap, USWDS, or similar.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The best candidate will be a practical full-stack engineer who can move confidently between Angular screens, Java REST APIs, service-layer logic, JPA entities, SQL queries, and deployment/debugging concerns. They should be comfortable joining a mature enterprise codebase, learning domain rules quickly, asking precise questions, and making careful changes that improve stability without unnecessary rewrites. They should also bring strong engineering judgment: writing readable code, testing the right behavior, communicating tradeoffs clearly, identifying root causes, and helping the team modernize incrementally while continuing to deliver production value.
