Almond Partners in New York or San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a versatile Full Stack Engineer to build scalable product experiences for venture-backed startups. You will work across teams to own features end-to-end and help shape the technical architecture as the company scales.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of full-stack experience with React and backend stacks (Node.js, Python, Go) and a strong grasp of cloud deployments, APIs, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications and services that power core product experiences.
• Develop reliable backend APIs, services, and data layers alongside modern, responsive frontend interfaces.
• Own features from ideation through production, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Integrate with internal systems, third-party APIs, and data platforms to deliver seamless product functionality.
• Establish and uphold standards for code quality, testing, observability, documentation, security, and performance.
• Support product and growth initiatives by shipping reliable, performant features that scale with user demand.
• Partner with product, design, engineering, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into durable technical solutions.
• Improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency of the application stack and infrastructure.
• Build reusable components, libraries, and internal tools that accelerate development velocity.
• Troubleshoot production issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures across the stack.
• Help define the company’s long-term technical architecture and product roadmap.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in full-stack engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience building production web applications with both frontend (React, Next.js, Vue, or similar) and backend (Node.js, Python/Django/FastAPI, Go, Java/Spring, or similar) technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying/operating services in production.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching layers, and common data-access patterns.
• Knowledge of API design (REST, GraphQL), authentication/authorization, and modern frontend state management.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, performance optimization, and scalable architecture.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong judgment around reliability, scalability, security, and infrastructure tradeoffs.
• Experience in a venture-backed or rapidly scaling startup environment is a plus.
