Job summary

Flexion Inc. is seeking a Full Stack Engineer for a remote, enterprise-level project in the United States. You’ll work across backend and frontend with a focus on test-driven development, scalable APIs, and cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of development experience, strong Python and Node/Typescript skills, PostgreSQL experience, RESTful API work, and frontend framework knowledge (React/Astro). Collaboration and quality code are valued.

Qualifications

• GitHub Actions for CI/CD (and Jenkins familiarity).
• Authentication solutions like Keycloak, ZITADEL, Supabase Auth, or AWS Cognito a plus.
• Frontend frameworks such as Astro, React, Vue, Svelte (experience with Astro/React is a plus).
• HTML/CSS knowledge is a plus.
• US Web Design System (USWDS) is a plus.
• Strong time-management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer particularly strong on the backend. In this role, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills and technical knowledge with a strong aptitude for appreciating the focus, scope, and impact of your work in a much wider and forward-looking software landscape. It is important to use test‑driven development with full code coverage.. User-centered design drives our efforts.

You have:

• 5+ years of Development experience
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
• Strong Python and Node/Typescript development skills
• Demonstrated experience working with RDBMS, particularly PostgreSQL
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs; experience integrating with a variety of external systems is a plus
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation (we use Terraform)
• Experience with cloud and PaaS technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cloud Foundry, or cloud.gov
• Experience with Test Driven Development, (we use Playwright and Vitest)
• Experience with GitHub Actions and Jenkins for Continuous Integration (we use GitHub Actions)
• Experience with authentication and authorization solutions such as Keycloak, ZITADEL, Supabase Auth, or AWS Cognito a plus
• Experience with Astro, Next, React, Vue, Svelte, or other frontend frameworks is a plus (we currently use Astro, React, and Lit)
• Knowledge of of HTML, CSS, and web standards is a plus
• Experience with a design system like U.S Web Design System (USWDS) is a plus
• Superb time‑management, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and exercise good judgment when navigating technical tradeoffs

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $155,000
