Job summary

Flexion Inc is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Engineer for a remote, enterprise-level government project. The role emphasizes backend strength with strong problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.

You will contribute to secure, compliant sites and apps with an emphasis on modern CI/CD, IaC, and cloud-native practices. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of development, solid Python/Node TS skills, and experience with PostgreSQL, RESTful APIs, and modern frontend frameworks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of development experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong Python and Node/Typescript development skills.
• Experience with RDBMS, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs; integrating with external systems is a plus.
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation (we use Terraform).
• Experience with cloud/PaaS technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cloud Foundry, or cloud.gov.
• Experience with Test Driven Development (we use Playwright and Vitest).
• Experience with GitHub Actions and Jenkins for CI (we use GitHub Actions).
• Experience with authentication/authorization solutions such as Keycloak, ZITADEL, Supabase Auth, or AWS Cognito a plus.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Astro, Next, React, Vue, Svelte; currently Astro, React, Lit.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web standards.
• Experience with US Web Design System (USWDS) is a plus.
• Strong time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and make good technical tradeoffs.

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer particularly strong on the backend. In this role, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills and technical knowledge with a strong aptitude for appreciating the focus, scope, and impact of your work in a much wider and forward-looking software landscape. It is important to use test-driven development with full code coverage.. User-centered design drives our efforts.

You have:

• 5+ years of Development experience
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
• Strong Python and Node/Typescript development skills
• Demonstrated experience working with RDBMS, particularly PostgreSQL

• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation (we use Terraform)

• Experience with Test Driven Development, (we use Playwright and Vitest)
• Experience with GitHub Actions and Jenkins for Continuous Integration (we use GitHub Actions)
• Experience with authentication and authorization solutions such as Keycloak, ZITADEL, Supabase Auth, or AWS Cognito a plus
• Experience with Astro, Next, React, Vue, Svelte, or other frontend frameworks is a plus (we currently use Astro, React, and Lit)
• Knowledge of of HTML, CSS, and web standards is a plus
• Experience with a design system like U.S Web Design System (USWDS) is a plus
• Superb time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and exercise good judgment when navigating technical tradeoffs

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $155,000
