General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Full Stack Developer with strong Python and JavaScript expertise to design, build, test, deploy, and support modern web applications. The role owns features end-to-end—from UI and APIs through data persistence, testing, and production delivery—in an Agile team.

Hybrid work is required with on-site planning events in St. Louis, MO, and occasional trips to Springfield, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Security clearance: Top Secret/SCI with a CI Poly.
• 5+ years of professional full-stack software-development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience developing backend services with Python.
• Strong hands-on experience developing front-end applications with JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with at least one modern front-end framework, preferably React.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Experience with source control and collaborative branching workflows using Git.
• Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, or operating CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks, such as PyTest, unittest, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices, including Scrum or Kanban, story estimation, iterative development, and backlog-driven delivery.
• Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure, scalable front-end and back-end application components.
• Build responsive, accessible web interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs; work with third-party APIs and enterprise services as needed.
• Design and optimize relational and/or NoSQL data models, queries, migrations, and integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Create and maintain unit, integration, API, and end-to-end automated tests.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily Agile ceremonies.
• Build, troubleshoot, and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, security scanning, packaging, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX/design, QA, DevOps, security, and other engineering teams to deliver production-ready capabilities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application issues across the full stack, including performance, reliability, and deployment problems.
• Follow secure-development practices, including authentication/authorization, input validation, secrets management, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation.
