Job summary

Delano Consulting seeks a founding Full-Stack Engineer to own product development for a stealth consumer platform in California. You will lead web, iOS, Android, payments, messaging, and AI pipelines, turning briefs into designed visuals and live features.

You’ll ship a Stripe‑connected marketplace, 10DLC communications, and calendar/scheduling tools, with a strong emphasis on UI polish and product quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping production software, at least one consumer product you built mostly solo.
• Proficient in React Native (Expo or bare) with at least one app on App Store and Google Play.
• Stripe Connect in production knowledge: KYC, payouts, webhooks, ledger reconciliation.
• Experience with Twilio or similar; understand 10DLC requirements.
• Experience with LLM and image-model APIs in shipped products.
• Postgres with a typed ORM (Drizzle) and AWS production experience.
• Maintaining testing habits with Vitest, Playwright, CI that blocks merges.
• Strong eye for visual design and details (screen polish)

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end engineering for a two‑sided platform across web, iOS, and Android.
• Implement sign‑in, profiles, and business account verification flows.
• Integrate Stripe Connect, KYC, payouts, webhooks, and ledger reconciliation.
• Incorporate AI features like an AI art director and LLM APIs into product workflows.
• Build calendars, app store submissions, and push notification logic.
• Maintain robust testing, CI, and quality gates for releases.

We are an early-stage, stealth consumer company building a two-sided platform — people on one side, small businesses on the other — with payments, messaging, and generative AI running between them. We’ll share the product, the market, and the name in the first conversation.

You would not start from zero. There is a working TypeScript codebase with live payments and 190 high-fidelity prototype screens with written product rulings behind every one.

You own it all — web, iOS, Android, backend, payments, messaging, and the AI pipeline.

What you’ll build:

• Phone/email sign-in, households, shared profiles, and business account verification
• Stripe Connect marketplace — checkout, stored balances, payouts, KYC, internal ledger
• SMS, WhatsApp, and email behind one adapter with 10DLC, delivery webhooks, and opt-out handling
• An LLM art director that turns a short brief into a designed visual
• Shared calendars with booking rules and Google Calendar sync
• iOS and Android apps — store submission, push notifications, Apple/Google Wallet passes
• Fast no-login public pages with one-tap checkout and PWA support

What we need:

• 5+ years shipping production software — at least one consumer product you built most of yourself
• React Native (Expo or bare) with at least one app shipped through App Store and Google Play
• Stripe Connect in production — KYC, payouts, webhooks, disputes, ledger reconciliation
• Twilio, Telnyx or similar — you know what 10DLC is
• LLM and image-model APIs in a shipped product
• Postgres with a typed ORM (we use Drizzle)
• AWS — you’ve run production there
• Testing as a habit — Vitest, Playwright, CI that blocks merges
• A real eye for visual design — you can tell when a screen is off by 4px

Nice to have:

• Diffusion-model experience (FLUX, Qwen-Image, LoRA)
• WhatsApp Business Platform and international SMS
• Google Calendar two-way sync and booking systems
• Apple/Google Wallet passes and offline-first mobile
• Two-sided marketplace or fintech compliance experience
• Daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) with good judgment about when not to trust them
