Job summary

Inversion is seeking a Full Stack Engineer II to build internal software tools across the stack, from intuitive UIs to backend services and integrations. You will work closely with technical users, own scoped problems, and shape what high-quality internal tools look like at Inversion.

You will contribute to the Internal Software Tools team under the Director of Software, with opportunities to improve tooling supporting engineering workflows and data review processes.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of professional software engineering experience building production-quality software.
• Strong front-end development experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and React.
• Experience building backend systems, APIs, or internal tools with Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: design, testing, debugging, maintainability.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and basic CI/CD workflows.
• Able to work in an ambiguous, high-priority environment with shifting requirements.
• Position may require occasional extended hours and/or weekend work.
• Must obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret/Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal web applications and tooling that support engineering workflows.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of internal tools from definition to deployment and maintenance.
• Create intuitive UIs for technical users with focus on usability and speed.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and integrations for dashboards, docs, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate loosely defined needs into concrete products.
• Adhere to internal development practices including testing and code quality.
• Contribute to evolving products and technical approach of Internal Software Tools team.
