Job summary

Syntiant Corp. is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to maintain and enhance cloud-based applications on AWS EKS and customer systems. The role covers both cloud and on-prem environments with occasional travel to customer sites.

You will develop RESTful APIs in Python, deploy on EKS, and work with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Responsibilities include CI/CD implementation, DevOps collaboration, on-prem Ceph/NFS maintenance, and security-compliant deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python with API development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS EKS, including deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud services (S3, RDS, VPCs).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
• Strong database knowledge: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
• Experience with Ceph and NFS for on‑prem storage.
• Expertise in Linux system administration.
• Ability to write clean, testable code and perform thorough testing.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Eligible for U.S. security clearance; active clearance preferred.
• Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana are a plus.
• Kubernetes operators and Helm charts familiarity is a plus.
• IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible are a plus.

Summary Description:

Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, is looking for an experienced and talented Full Stack Engineer.

The Full Stack Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our cloud-based applications, specifically those deployed on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), as well as our applications deployed on customer systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and DevOps practices, as well as the ability to work on both on-premises and cloud environments. This position will require occasional travel to customer sites.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS EKS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Integrate with various data sources and services (e.g., MongoDB, Postgres) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure seamless integration of cloud-native tools and practices.
• Work with customers to deploy Syntiant software onto customer compute systems and networks, including private cloud environments.
• Maintain on-premises servers running Ceph, PostgreSQL, and NFS services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across different environments (development, staging, production).
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing sessions.
• Coordinate and collaborate with Syntiant cyber security staff.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, with experience in API development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS EKS, including deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure services such as S3, RDS, and VPCs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of database systems, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Experience with on-premises storage solutions like Ceph and NFS.
• Expertise in Linux system administration.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and perform thorough testing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Eligibility for U.S. security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Active security clearance is preferred.
• Experience with cloud-native observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes operators and Helm charts is a plus.
• Knowledge of container orchestration on-premises using Kubernetes or similar technologies is a plus.
• Experience with DevOps best practices and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) is a plus.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $135,000 - $175,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
