Job summary

Fortive's Fluke division in the greater Seattle area seeks a Software Design Engineer to expand full-stack enterprise apps, leveraging AWS and on‑premises infrastructure. You will contribute to legacy support while designing new features and improving systems for a global user base.

The role emphasizes ownership, customer interaction, and adoption of best practices in a small-team environment. A BS in CS and 3+ years of relevant dev experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or related field required.
• 3+ years full-stack web development with CI/CD and testing.
• Strong Python/React or equivalent front-end skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn and support legacy web and local apps using Python, React, Java, C#.
• Develop new full-stack, web-based applications with I18N.
• Improve AWS and on‑prem infrastructure; research enhancements.
• Support migration to containers, microservices, DevOps, SCADA integration.
• Promote software development best practices across teams.
• Engage with users to identify improvements and benefits.
• Coordinate with corporate IT and other functions as needed.
