Job summary

Fluke Corporation is seeking a skilled software engineer to join Fluke Reliability, focusing on C# development, SQL databases, and cloud-native modernization. You will build and maintain multitenant SaaS applications and containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes, deployed on AWS, while supporting legacy Windows technologies.

The role offers an international, collaborative team environment and ongoing learning opportunities, with hybrid work three days per week in the New York area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development projects.
  • Advanced level of C# skills.
  • Strong SQL and relational database knowledge; experience with triggers, stored procedures, functions, and replication.
  • Experience with Sybase SQL and PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of legacy Windows technologies, including ODBC, Windows Services, COM+, MSMQ, Task Scheduler and Windows Registry.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud services.
  • Eager to learn new technologies and programming languages.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP and networking would be a valuable asset.
  • VB.NET and/or VB6 development experience would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring technologies and practices would be considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot software solutions using C#
  • Design, develop, optimize, and troubleshoot transactional database solutions using SQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, replication, and data integration; experience with SQL anywhere is an advantage.
  • Build, maintain, and support applications leveraging legacy Windows technologies such as ODBC, Windows Services, COM+, MSMQ, and the Windows Registry.
  • Provide advanced technical support to customers, Customer Success, and Technical Support teams by troubleshooting complex application, database, integration, and infrastructure issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain containerized applications and deployment pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Contribute to the deployment, monitoring, and operation of cloud-based solutions hosted on AWS.
  • Participate in software architecture, code reviews, and technical design discussions, promoting engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Support the modernization of legacy applications and migration of existing functionality to scalable cloud-native architectures.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer activities and create technical documentation to improve product supportability and operational efficiency.

Job Description
