Job summary

WillisRe is recruiting a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build and own end-to-end features across APIs, services, and responsive UIs. You will craft cloud-native applications on Azure, surface data for brokers and analysts, and develop AI-enabled capabilities using retrieval-augmented generation and API integrations.

The role emphasizes strong backend with C#/.NET or Python, frontend skills in React/Angular, and expertise in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, Terraform, and secure coding.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping and maintaining production systems end-to-end.
• Experience in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services is desirable.
• Strong backend skills in C#/.NET or Python, API design, and SQL.
• Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks (React or Angular) and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, CI/CD (AzureDevOps or GitHubActions), and Terraform.
• Knowledge of microservices, event-driven, and API-led design; security fundamentals (OAuth2.0, OIDC, EntraID, RBAC).
• Strong SQL performance awareness and relational database experience.
• Experience or strong interest in LLM-based AI solutions, agentic patterns, prompt design, and evaluation.
• Fluency in test-driven development, automated testing, clean design, and judgement about keeping things simple.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to product stakeholders and delivery partners.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship end-to-end features from APIs and services to responsive user interfaces.
• Develop and run cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure using PaaS, containers, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Consume data through APIs to surface it in performant ways for brokers and analysts.
• Build AI-enabled product features using retrieval-augmented generation, tool and API integration, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop design.
• Use and promote AI-assistant engineering tools such as ClaudeCode or ClaudeCowork.
• Integrate with external market platforms, carrier- and client-systems, and SaaS products via API-first and event-driven patterns.
• Apply test-driven development and secure-coding practices, including authentication, authorisation (EntraID, OAuth2.0), data protection, and privacy.
• Collaborate on architectural standards, participate in design discussions, review code, and mentor teammates in a green-field environment.
