Evoke Plc in the United States seeks a skilled Full Stack Engineer to join our Retail Team, focusing on in-store tech that integrates with online experiences across 1400+ UK shops. You will work from a hybrid setup, contribute to AWS-scale deployments, and advance the platform from cloud to storefront.

The role emphasizes delivering value while upholding coding standards, collaborating across multiple teams, and improving the tech stack with best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Java Developer.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Node.
• Experience working in Scrum/Kanban environments.
• Broad knowledge of web software development topics.
• Knowledge of SOLID engineering principles.

Responsabilités

• Implement and document solutions with Developers, Testers and Solution Architects.
• Ensure software integrity and manage technical debt with SREs.
• Support turning guardrails into best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with Product Owners on technical and non-technical requirements.
• Collaborate on delivery with Delivery Managers.
• Pair programming and code reviews with feedback.
• Collaborate with QA to align tests with the solution.
• Support CI and release pipelines and organize releases.

Our Retail Team are responsible for all aspects of William Hill's in store technology, with a particular focus on integrating the online experience for our customers into our 1400+ retail shops in the UK. Your role is to keep our colleagues and customers connected, updating our existing platform and systems while ensuring our customers have cutting edge technology at their fingertips. We're adopting AWS at scale, and at the same time releasing high volume system upgrades into around 1400 shops across the UK. So, from the Cloud to tangible technology on the ground, we're proud to say that we're covering it all. As a Full Stack Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that we deliver value to our colleagues and customers while maintaining best practice, coding standard and, improving the team. What you will be doing:

Responsibilities

• Implementation and documentation of solutions in collaboration with Developers, Testers and Solution Architects
• Responsibility for the integrity of the software, ensuring technical debt is managed effectively in collaboration with Site Reliability teams
• Support turning guardrails into best practices and standards, and ensure adherence
• Collaborating on non-technical and technical requirements with Product Owners
• Collaborating on delivery with Delivery Managers
• Pair Programming and/or Reviewing code and providing constructive feedback
• Collaborating with QA to ensure tests are aligned with the solution and complement tests written by development
• Support for CI & release pipeline being set up for all applications delivered. Organise & execute releases

Requirements

• Experience as a Java Developer
• Experience with a JavaScript/Typescript language ideally React/Node
• Experience with working in Scrum/Kanban framework
• Broad knowledge of web software development related topics
• Working knowledge of best engineering practices (SOLID)
• Experience with working in multi-team environment with multiple dependencies
