bet365 is expanding its Cloud Platform capability and embedding experts within Product Delivery Domains to build, operate, and support cloud resources that power our Sports Trading and Core Systems Cloud services.

You will work with Terraform, Kubernetes (GKE), and GitOps to accelerate delivery, strengthen security, and enable a self-serve model for product teams. This role suits developers moving to cloud or cloud engineers collaborating with developers.

Qualifications

  • Experience with public cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of projects, folders, IAM, and billing in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with IaC and Terraform-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with GitOps practices and Git-based SCM.
  • Automation scripting using CLI, Bash, Python, and Golang.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes/GKE and service mesh concepts.
  • Understanding of networking in cloud environments and cloud security.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, operate and support cloud resources within software products.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of cloud resources as part of initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teams to drive cloud adoption and engineering standards.
  • Work with the central Cloud Platform Team to embed principles and standards.
  • Consult with stakeholders and promote engineering excellence across the team.
  • Help steer self-serve automation and tooling improvements.

Job Description

A Cloud Platform Engineer, who will be embedded within the teams that are responsible for the delivery and operation of resources supporting our Sports Trading and Core Systems Cloud services.

The next stage of the long-term initiative is to expand our public Cloud capability and to establish a seamless operating model, that aims to leverage the speed of delivery and flexibility of the self-serve model. By placing the right skills closer to the product teams, this will ensure a close working relationship with the core platform team.

You will be embedded within Product Delivery Domains to help build, operate and support critical products within the Cloud. You will have a passion for working on innovative initiatives and will make an immediate impact to the Business, by bringing your own experience to a challenging but vibrant environment. You will be given the support and training to allow you to grow and progress within this position.

This role would suit either those looking to leverage a development background to Cloud technologies or a cloud engineer who wants to work closely with development teams.

The listed salary for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 annually

Qualifications
  • Prior public Cloud experience, preferably with Google Cloud.
  • Existing core platform knowledge in Projects and Folders, IAM and Billing.
  • Proficiency operating with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using industry standard tooling, preferably Terraform and methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience using GitOpsa.
  • Proficiency of source code management, namely git.
  • Confident in utilising custom automation and scripting using tools such as G-Cloud, CLI, Bash, Python and Golang.
  • Experience of modern platform stacks such as Kubernetes or GKE, as well as affiliated technologies and workflows including service mesh ingress, CI and CD, monitoring stacks and security instruments.
  • Awareness of networking in Public Cloud environments.
  • Awareness of key security considerations when operating in the Public Cloud.
Additional Information
  • Working within a software function to deploy, operate and support related Cloud resources.
  • Taking accountability for the end-to-end delivery of Cloud resources, as part of software product initiatives.
  • Working with and influencing others to advocate and guide technical aspects of Cloud adoption.
  • Working with the central Cloud Platform Team to embed key principles and standards in the operational running of responsible technologies.
  • Supporting and consulting with stakeholders.
  • Driving engineering excellence across the team by fostering modern engineering practices and processes.
  • Working with the central Cloud Platform Team to help steer the next iteration of self-serve automation technologies.
