The role blends application development, database administration, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and production support for high-volume applications and REST APIs. You will work with PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, Linux, scripting, monitoring, and data integrations (EDI, XML, CSV), and help modernize legacy stacks while supporting on-site

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support modern web applications and REST APIs.
  • Develop and maintain applications supporting pricing, transaction management, supply, reporting, and utility operations.
  • Work with PostgreSQL databases from an application development and administration perspective.
  • Support PostgreSQL environments, including backups, disaster recovery, infrastructure upgrades, and performance considerations.
  • Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Support AWS-based application infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Develop scripts and automation to improve application operations, monitoring, and reliability.
  • Monitor production applications and infrastructure using tools such as Datadog.
  • Participate in production support and troubleshooting of application and infrastructure issues.
  • Work with legacy technology stacks as part of modernization and M&A-related technology integration initiatives.
  • Develop and integrate REST APIs and data interfaces.
  • Work with data formats and integrations including EDI, XML, and CSV.
  • Build web scraping solutions when required.
  • Collaborate with teams responsible for moving data into platforms such as Databricks.
  • Contribute to application architecture, system design, scalability, and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in Git-based development workflows and follow established software engineering standards.

Full Stack Application Developer / DevOps Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Application Developer / DevOps Engineer to join a technology team supporting critical applications and APIs within the energy and utility space.

This role combines full-stack application development, database administration, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and production support. You will work on high-volume applications, REST APIs, data integrations, legacy technology modernization, and cloud-based infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer who can move comfortably between application development, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, Linux, scripting, monitoring, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, enhance, and support modern web applications and REST APIs.
  • Develop and maintain applications supporting pricing, transaction management, supply, reporting, and utility operations.
  • Work with PostgreSQL databases from an application development and administration perspective.
