About the Opportunity

The Full Stack Developer uses technical, analytical, and consulting skills to support the Ellucian Managed Services client community. The role works directly with customers to understand business and technical needs, troubleshoot application issues, and implement reliable solutions using the tools and resources available.

The work ranges from software troubleshooting and break/fix support to application enhancements, integrations, reporting, and scripting. This is a customer-facing role that requires a strong learning mindset, structured problem solving, clear communication, and effective collaboration across teams.

Prior Higher Education or Ellucian product experience is not required. Successful candidates are expected to learn new business domains, products, and technologies quickly and apply that knowledge to customer needs.

Where you will make an impact

• Investigate and resolve defined to moderately complex technical issues using a structured troubleshooting approach, established practices, and available documentation and tools.
• Gather information from customers to understand program needs, objectives, business processes, functional requirements, inputs, outputs, and expected outcomes.
• Analyze application behavior, code, logs, API responses, integrations, data, and configuration to identify likely causes of errors and implement appropriate fixes or workarounds.
• Prototype, configure, refine, test, and debug applications, integrations, reports, scripts, and related technical solutions.
• Apply development and programming skills across application tiers to build, modify, and test application changes, interfaces, reports, and scripts.
• Use REST APIs and API clients such as Bruno, Postman, or Insomnia to validate requests, responses, authentication, payloads, and integration behavior.
• Provide high-quality technical consultation and support for Ellucian products and services, including Ethos, Banner Extensibility, Ellucian Experience, Ethos Data Connect, Banner Self-Service, and related solutions.
• Communicate progress, findings, dependencies, and resolution steps clearly to customers and internal teams, including translating technical information for non-technical audiences when needed.
• Escalate issues appropriately when additional expertise is required, providing clear evidence, troubleshooting history, and reproducible details to accelerate resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete assignments, resolve customer issues, and meet agreed priorities and service expectations.
• Document technical findings, solutions, and reusable troubleshooting steps to strengthen team knowledge and improve future resolution efficiency.
• Demonstrate customer focus, active listening, adaptability, accountability, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.

What you will bring

• Typically 2-4 years of relevant experience in application development, technical support, integrations, consulting, or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript technologies such as ReactJS, NodeJS, and ES5/ES6 JavaScript.
• Experience consuming and troubleshooting REST APIs and working with API clients such as Bruno, Postman, or Insomnia.
• Experience with inbound and outbound system integrations and the ability to trace data or transactions across connected systems.
• Experience with Git or another version-control system.
• Working knowledge of SQL or relational databases; experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience using generative AI and AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot for troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, code and data analysis, solution design, prototyping, and documentation; able to validate outputs and protect customer information.
• Experience with GraphQL is desirable.
• Experience with help desk, incident-management, or ticketing systems is desirable.
• Experience with business process management or workflow tools such as ProcessMaker is desirable.
• Customer service and/or consulting experience, with strong active-listening and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Ability to work independently on defined assignments while seeking guidance or escalating appropriately when scope, risk, or complexity increases.
• Ability and motivation to quickly learn unfamiliar applications, technologies, and business processes.
• Higher Education experience is not required.
