Job summary

HireHi is seeking a senior software engineer to own production systems across a Node.js/TypeScript backend and a large React frontend with enterprise integrations. You will deliver end-to-end features, trace and explain business logic across stacks, and drive improvements while maintaining thorough documentation.

The role requires strong TS/Node.js, SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexes), and React expertise, plus API design and DI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills.
• Strong SQL Server skills including T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, indexes, and execution plans.
• Comfortable writing SQL directly without a full ORM.
• Strong React skills with hooks and Redux Toolkit; large component base.
• Experience designing API contracts and integrations with versioning and backward compatibility.
• Familiarity with learning an in-house framework from docs and code.
• Proficiency with dependency injection and DI containers.
• Ability to write tests (Vitest) including integration tests against a local SQL Server container.
• Security awareness: authentication, tokens, endpoint authorization, and injection.
• Experience using AI coding agents and defending outputs in reviews.
• Professional written English; spoken English not required.
• Bonus: enterprise or legacy integrations, PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with dependency injection and DI containers
• Ability to write tests, including integration tests; the stack uses Vitest and tests against a real SQL Server instance in a local container
• Security awareness, including authentication and tokens, endpoint authorization, and injection
• Experience using AI coding agents and verifying their output; able to defend every submitted line in review
• Professional written English; spoken English is not required
