Job summary

Epsilon, Inc., a leader in IT Services, is hiring a Full-Stack Developer III to support the USDA’s Digital Infrastructure Services Center. This fully remote role involves developing and enhancing the Service Portal, requiring substantial experience in multiple development technologies.

Our Customer’s Mission:
The USDA Digital Infrastructure Services Center (DISC) operates 24/7/365 to provide comprehensive on premises and cloud-based hosting services, including Disaster Recovery, security, and professional support services and operations to approximately 35 federal organizations. The USDA and other Federal partners depend upon DISC’s highly complex and interconnected technology infrastructure to conduct their operations. To better support this mission, DISC is modernizing their technology by transitioning to a continuous integration, deployment, and code-based organization.

An average day:
As Full-Stack Developer III, you will be focused on the development of our clients Service Portal, including front-end UI/UX and back-end design, implementation, and orchestration operational processes and procedures to ensure a stable computing platform that delivers an exceptional customer experience. In this position you will:

  • Work closely with service lines, partners, and stakeholders to deliver new or enhanced services
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with federal and contract stakeholders to perform business process engineering/re-engineering consultancy and analysis
  • Research and document process flows
  • Design process improvement plans and ensure proper implementation practices
  • Develop new technologies and features, and implement, maintain, and enhance existing capabilities
  • Research, determine, and analyze user requirements, and define system or site scope and objectives of final output of projects
  • Review specifications, design and write code, test and troubleshoot software, and provide maintenance and changes to efficient, well-organized web or enterprise applications
  • Develop, maintain and enhance UI/UX of existing web applications, web pages and web components
  • Provide expertise to resolve front-end/back-end application issues

  • Provide expertise to resolve front-end/back-end application issues
Basic Qualifications:
  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an application developer with proven business process improvement experience.
  • Must have experience with the following: Kinetic Data, Ruby, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, Java, XHTML, jQuery, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, GIT.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently with varying deadlines and levels of importance.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead efforts of analysis and resolution of problems or issues; identify when and how to escalate problems to the appropriate level.
  • Experience and comfort with change and ambiguity given the ever-evolving nature of the business.
  • Experience collaborating with Technology and Business Teams to deliver data and technology solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment, but also independently.
  • Strong detail orientation supported by ability to take a structured approach to achieve long-term objectives and build sustainable routine.
  • Must be able to attend training and earn ITIL Foundation certification (3.0 or higher) within 6 months of hire date (ITIL Training provided).

  • Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust. (This is a federal contract position and requires candidates to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust.
