Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Unisys Laboratory Information System software using COBOL, DMS, MQ 2200.
- Develop high‑quality, responsive, and scalable web applications using Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Design and implement RESTful API endpoints using Spring Boot, Oracle JSON, and containerized Kubernetes microservices architecture.
- Analyze, design, code, test, and document online transaction programs as well as batch programs and run streams in support of the laboratory system.
- Review and verify requirements to ensure project deliverables comply with the requirements.
- Interact with laboratory personnel to identify defects and associated requirements for new requests.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high‑level information into details, abstract up from low‑level information to a general understanding.
- Collaborate with UX designers to translate Figma mockups into functional Angular components, ensuring pixel‑perfect implementation and optimal user experience.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure seamless integration of front‑end and back‑end components.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure that all code is written according to best practices, is well‑documented, and follows established coding standards.
- Utilize Jira for agile project planning, Confluence for documentation, and Git for version control.
- Participate in the after‑hours and weekend on‑call rotation to support and troubleshoot production systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical work experience.
- Knowledge of COBOL, DMS, SSG, and Unisys 1100/2200 is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in full‑stack development with Angular (versions 8+) and Java (Spring Boot).
- Strong understanding of front‑end development principles, including responsive design, CSS pre‑processors (e.g., Sass), and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., TypeScript).
- Proficient in back‑end development using Spring Boot, Oracle, and containerized Kubernetes microservices architecture.
- Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
- Familiarity with Figma and ability to translate UX mockups into functional Angular components.
- Experience with agile development tools such as Git.
- Ability to go onsite to work with laboratory technologists in defining requirements and solutions.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive schedules.
- Good teamwork skills, professional work ethic, and ability to build relationships with both internal and external business partners.
- Medical laboratory or other healthcare experience a plus.
Pay & Application Window
Application Window closes 9/1/2025.
Pay Range: $90,000 – $120,000 annually.
